Vol. 547 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

100 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on whether a person (details supplied) in County Galway was treated fairly after the birth of her child. [2986/02]

The provision of services is the responsibility of the Western Health Board in the first instance. However, I understand from the Western Health Board that the person in question was transferred to Beaumont Hospital on 27 January 2002.

John McGuinness

Question:

101 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons for the delay in providing treatment for a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; and if the South Eastern Health Board will pay for this treatment privately. [2988/02]

The provision of hospital services in the case to which the Deputy is referring is a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to look into this matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
