Question:

354 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department will now complete a dealing for a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [14660/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is a schedule application for the vesting of land by the Land Commission. This schedule application was lodged on 12 February 2001. Schedule Number 93587 refers.

Land Commission schedule applications are deemed to be registered as of the date of vesting which is prior to the date of lodgement of the documents in the Land Registry. Accordingly, registration in the Land Registry of Land Commission cases is afforded a lower priority than the registration of other dealings.
I am also informed that the Land Registry contacted the Land Commission on 24 June 2002 to obtain the original estate map which is required to complete the registration of this application and the matter will receive further attention on receipt of this document. I understand that due to the complicated nature of this type of application it is not possible to estimate a date of completion at this time. However, I assure the Deputy that this application is receiving attention in the Land Registry.
