645 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will approve funding for a school (details supplied) in County Roscommon to erect fencing and resurface the school yard in view of the health and safety risk of not completing the works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16534/02]

Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey):

My Department has authorised the school authorities to appoint an architect to report on works at the school referred to by the Deputy.

When the report is received the matter can be examined further.
