Vol. 555 No. 2

Adjournment Debate. - Hospital Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

290 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons for the delay in re-calling a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny to St. Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny for an urgent operation; the reason this person has received no communication from the hospital confirming the proposed date of 11 October 2002 for the operation; and if a date will be set and the patient informed. [18083/02]

The provision of services in the case of the person named from County Kilkenny is the responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy.
