330 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children if funding will be provided to the Western Health Board to support the establishment of a residential hostel for the suicidally vulnerable in Boyle, County Roscommon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18386/02]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provision of funding to individuals or groups for projects in the area of suicide prevention and research is primarily a matter for each health board. Nationally since 1997 more than €6 million in total has been provided for suicide prevention activities.
