Written Answers. - Third Level Staff.

Denis Naughten

Question:

201 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason the number of teaching staff at Dublin Institute of Technology, Mountjoy Square, has been reduced in 2002; if his attention has been drawn to the impact this is having on students at the college; the action he intends to take to address this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18969/02]

The Dublin Institute of Technology is a statutory body established under the Dublin Institute of Technology Acts, 1992 and 1994. Under those Acts, the governance and day to day activities of the institute are matters for which the governing body and the management of the institute are responsible.
