331 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Transport the total amount of Exchequer investment in primary and secondary roads in each of the years 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18997/02]
My Department provides annually a block grant to the NRA for road improvement and maintenance. The NRA is responsible for allocations to local authorities in respect of individual projects within the overall framework of the NDP. I have no responsibility in the provision of funding to individual local authorities for national road projects.
