Vol. 558 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Bernard Allen

Question:

273 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if he will identify by location, acreage and other details, the State properties in his Department which are being considered for sale or are available for sale at present. [24334/02]

The State properties in my Department which are being considered for sale or are available for sale are outlined as follows:

Consultations with the Department of Finance and the Valuation Office are ongoing in the sale of 0.3 of a hectare at Brockagh, Glendalough, County Wicklow, to an adjoining landowner for access purposes. The land is vested in the Mini ster under the Forestry Act (Designated Land) Instrument, 1988.
My Department is responsible, through the Foreshore Acts, for the management and administration of the State foreshore. In general, such foreshore is licensed or leased to interested parties, subject to appropriate terms and conditions. Instances of the sale of State foreshore are generally confined to reclaimed foreshore. A number of proposals for the purchase of reclaimed foreshore are under consideration. I will forward relevant details in this regard to the Deputy at the earliest opportunity.
My Department is in the process of selling a site measuring 0.87 acres at Killybegs Fishery Harbour Centre, County Donegal, to Donegal County Council.
