864 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his Department will investigate alleged cases of abuse of the disabled person's grant as reported in a letter dated 13 January 2003; if so, if the results of his Department's inquiry will be communicated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has sent the letter mentioned in the Question to the relevant local authority for its attention and observations pending further consideration of the issues involved.
