Vol. 562 No. 3

Written Answers - Publication of Reports.

John McGuinness

Question:

184 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if an occupational therapist's report has been prepared regarding the needs of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if the SEHB will cover the costs of the requirements in this house; if there is a departmental grant for special equipment and fittings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5989/03]

The provision of health related services, including occupational therapy, to people with physical and sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board, with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

I also wish to advise the Deputy that all queries concerning the proposed adaptation of buildings and funding are dealt with by the Department of the Environment and Local Government.
