Vol. 562 No. 4

Written Answers - Garda Deployment.

Pat Breen

Question:

402 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí at present assigned to Shannon Garda station; if the complement has been increased since security breaches at Shannon Airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6457/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the allocation of resources and personnel to individual areas, that the Garda complement at Shannon Garda station is 33, all ranks. Where extra resources are required for any specific operational reason, additional Garda personnel may be allocated to that area as in the case of Shannon.
