266 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science when he will give the necessary approval for the appointment of a resource teacher and classroom assistant for Rathcormac national school, Sligo; the reasons for the delays; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7621/03]
All applications for resource teacher and/or special needs assistant support received in my Department between 11 November 2002 and 14 February 2003 have been referred to the National Educational Psychological Service – NEPS – for recommendation on the level and nature of an appropriate educational response. An application from Rathcormac national school, Sligo, is being considered within this process. Schools have been advised that it is my Depart ment's intention to respond to these applications during the week commencing Monday, 7 April 2003.
