Vol. 564 No. 5

Written Answers - Youth Services.

John Perry

Question:

262 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will reconsider the decision to withdraw the Extern Youth Support Programme in the Sligo area and replace it with a Foróige Health Cafe, in view of the fact that the youth support programme was an invaluable service for the many young persons who availed of it; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9584/03]

Responsibility for the provision of child and family services rests with the relevant health board, which in this case is the North-Western Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
