204 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason the grant for ancillary services has not been awarded to schools in County Galway to date; when it will be awarded; the amount due to each primary school in County Galway; and if he can provide this information in tabular form. An amount of €625 was lodged to the bank accounts of all eligible schools on 20 December 2002 as an advance payment in respect of the ancillary services grant due in 2003. The balance of the grant due for 2003 was lodged to the bank accounts of 2,920 schools on 7 March last. A further 14 schools will receive their balance on 11 April. The remainder of the eligible schools will receive payment in May, once details of their enrolments are received in my Department or any outstanding queries in relation to their enrolments are resolved at that stage. It is not possible to indicate the amount due until enrolment details are finalised.
