Question:607 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of recorded serious assaults and murders on the north side of Dublin over the past 12 months. [11344/03]
Written Answers. - Crime Levels.
Provisional crime statistics made available by the Garda authorities for the year 2002 indicate that 17 homicides and 671 headline assault offences were recorded in the northern and north central divisions of Dublin. I wish to emphasise that these figures are currently undergoing a process of validation and, as such, are liable to change. The final figures will be published in the annual report of The Garda Síochána for 2002.
