Vol. 566 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Seán Power

Question:

44 Mr. S. Power asked the Minister for Defence if An Post sought permission or advice from his Department or any military authority before carrying out major changes to the interior of the post office in the Curragh Camp; if a decision has been made in relation to the future use of these old style fittings; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13286/03]

Neither my Department nor the military authorities were consulted by An Post regarding the changes carried out to the interior of the post office. The works were apparently considered necessary on security grounds. An Post has been requested to make the old fixtures and fittings available for inspection. A decision will then be made regarding their future use.

Question No. 45 answered with Question No. 28.
