Vol. 567 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

88 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will intervene in the dispute between his Department and the CPSU which is causing considerable hardship to thousands of farm families in the affected counties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14164/03]

I regret the inconvenience caused to the farming community due to the industrial action taken by the CPSU members and I am anxious to resolve the dispute. Department officials had contact CPSU representatives in recent days. While no formula for resolving the dispute has emerged my officials are having ongoing talks with CPSU representatives in an effort to resolve this dispute.
