Question:

201 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when cattle cards belonging to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be returned to them from his Department; and if his attention has been drawn to the hardship that is being caused by the current dispute. [14618/03]

As the Deputy will be aware, there is an industrial dispute at the district veterinary office concerned. I regret the inconvenience to farmers like the person indicated and I assure the Deputy that I am most anxious to resolve the dispute to restore as quickly as possible the Department's normal service to farmers in the areas concerned. Contacts are continuing with the relevant union.

202 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when eight reactor animals will be removed from the farm of a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14716/03]
