Vol. 568 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

90 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if the South-Eastern Health Board will fund the full-time care needed for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny at St. Catherine's Nursing Home, Freshford, County Kilkenny, on hardship grounds; the assistance the South-Eastern Health Board will give towards the overdue account of ?2327.90 in view of the inability of the person to pay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16356/03]

As the Deputy will be aware, the provision of health services in the Kilkenny area is a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the health board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply direct to him, as a matter of urgency.
