Vol. 568 No. 3

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

John McGuinness

Question:

93 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if medical cards in the names of persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will be renewed immediately in view of the medical circumstances and limited income of both persons; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16359/03]

The determination of eligibility of applicants to medical cards is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board-authority to decide. Accordingly, these particular cases have been referred to the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
