Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Psychological Service.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

694 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science when educational psychol ogists will be appointed to primary schools in Maynooth, Celbridge, Ardclough, Rathmore, Sallins, Kilcock, Rathcoffey, Kill and Donadea, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21180/03]

The situation in regard to the psychological service provided by the national educational psychological service agency to schools in County Kildare remains substantially unchanged. Due to general staffing constraints, it is unlikely that there will be any major expansion in County Kildare during the current school year.

Currently, schools without access to the NEPS service may avail of the scheme for commissioning psychological assessments, details of which may be found on my Department's website.
