Vol. 1 No. 17

A PERSONAL EXPLANATION.

Before you commence the business I have a statement of a more or less personal nature to make, and I ask for the permission of the Seanad. The last day we met here I found it necessary to make a complaint of Agendas not being sent to me in due course. Apparently the Postal Authorities seem to think I was making some sort of a reflection on the Post Office. Nothing was further from my mind. As far as I am concerned I have nothing but admiration for the Post Office, the work of which is now carried on under the greatest difficulty. What I meant to convey was that I had not received the Agendas and I am still in the same position, so I take it they were never sent out from some office here. So far as the Post Office is concerned I am quite satisfied that any letters addressed to me reached me in due course. Nothing was further from my mind than in any way to impugn the Postal Authorities.
