Vol. 117 No. 6

Death of Former Oireachtas Member. - Expression of Sympathy.

Before the Order of Business would you permit me to propose a vote of sympathy to the widow of the late Mick Lipper who served as a Member of the Oireachtas? In addition he served on the city council in Limerick for many years and was Lord Mayor of his native city. He was accepted by all of us as an excellent sportsman. It is appropriate that, before we start our formal business this House of the Oireachtas should extend its sympathy through you, A Leas-Chathaoirligh, to his widow and family on his recent and unexpected death which created much sorrow for those of us who were associated with Mick. It would be appropriate for the House to extend its sympathy to his widow.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I am sure all our colleagues will concur with that motion. I ask Members to stand for a minute. The clerk will convey the sentiments of the House to Mrs. Lipper and her family.

Members rose in their places.
