Vol. 120 No. 8

Business of the Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I have notice from Senator Katharine Bulbulia that, on the Motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to intercede on behalf of the Sharpeville Six so as to ensure that their execution does not take place.

I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to increase the diplomatic effort at the appropriate level to secure the release of Brian Keenan, an Irish citizen held hostage in Lebanon.

I also received notice from Senator Philip Hogan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to intervene immediately to ensure the sanction of national lottery funds to the Graignamanagh Elderly Association, County Kilkenny.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Bulbulia, Connor and Hogan as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Bulbulia's motion and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Connor and Hogan may give notice for another day of the matters they wish to raise.
