71 Deputy Jan O’Sullivan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the amount of EU funds available to the agri-environment options scheme from the €250 million allocated to the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [45202/10]
View answerThe total amount of funding available from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) for the Agri-Environment Options Scheme (AEOS) and Natura 2000 Scheme is €132,913,000. The EAFRD co-funding rate is 75% with the balancing 25% to be provided by the Exchequer. This Exchequer co-funded element will amount to €44,304,333. This brings the total co-funded amount to €177,217,333. The balancing non-co-funded element of the €250 million allocation, which amounts to €72,782,667, will also be provided by the Exchequer.
