This is a potentially a wide ranging proposal spanning a number of different care programmes, over and above existing care provision to children. In relation to this year, the Health Service Executive National Service Plan 2012 aims to progress the implementation of the recommendations in the national policy document Palliative Care for Children with Life-Limiting Conditions in Ireland (2009). This Policy aims to ensure that all children with life-limiting conditions will have the choice and opportunity to be cared for at home.
