Oireachtas to commemorate centenary of women in parliamentary politics

In 2018, the Houses of the Oireachtas will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Irish women being permitted by law to vote and run in parliamentary elections.

Events will include an academic conference with the Royal Irish Academy, a youth debate in Seanad Éireann and an exhibition in partnership with the National Museum of Ireland and the National Library of Ireland.

The full programme of events will be announced in the new year.
