Academic work by Houses of the Oireachtas Service personnel discussing 100 years of Seanad Éireann has been published in the Irish Public Administration's journal, Administration.
The article, "Seanad Éireann: 100 years of Ireland's Upper House", covers areas such as the purpose of the Seanad, representation, the Seanad's legislative and policy role, oversight and the future role of the House.
Administration is the peer-reviewed journal of the Institute of Public Administration of Ireland, which has been published quarterly since 1953. The Institute of Public Administration is Ireland's public service development agency focused exclusively on public sector development.
Authored by the Clerk of the Seanad, Martin Groves, and Catherine Lynch of the Oireachtas Library and Research Service, the article was published in the December 2022, coinciding with the centenary of the Seanad's first sitting in 1922 and the culmination of Seanad100 celebrations.
