OPW to appear before Finance Committee

Committee Chairman Dr Liam Twomey TD said: “The OPW manages and maintains the State's property portfolio, has responsibility for the day-to-day running of all National Monuments and National Historic Properties and is the lead agency for flood risk management in Ireland. Tomorrow, we will meet with representatives from the OPW to get an overview of the operations and functioning of the organisation. As well as getting an overview of the OPW, it is also an opportunity for members to discuss issues such as funding for public buildings and the OPW’s strategy for increasing visitor numbers to national monuments and properties along with getting an update on flood risk management and flood risk management policy particularly for winter storm damage.”

This meeting will start at 2pm on Wednesday, 10th December 2014 in Committee Room 4.
