Joint Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht to discuss impact of Covid-19 with Minister Martin and Minister Chambers

The Joint Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht will meet with Minister Catherine Martin and Minister Jack Chambers tomorrow, Wednesday, 4 November at 2.00pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House to discuss their priorities following the effects of Covid-19.

The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Deputy Martin, and the Minister for State for the Gaeltacht and Sport, Deputy Chambers, will brief the Committee on their key Departmental priorities, and on the impact of Covid-19 on each sector under the remit of the Department.

Committee Chair Deputy Niamh Smyth said: “The Committee has heard from stakeholders on the devastating impact Covid-19 has on sport, arts and culture, and tourism over the last eight months. Members look forward to engaging with the Ministers on their priorities for the Department in meeting the challenge posed by Covid, and in particular how they can help tourism, arts and culture, sport, media and Gaeltacht areas to recover from the pandemic.”

The Joint Committee on Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
