Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration to meet with TUSLA

The Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration will meet with Bernard Gloster, CEO of TUSLA, the Child and Family Agency, tomorrow, Tuesday, 24 November.

The meeting at 4.00pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will focus on:

  • Recruitment of Social Workers;
  • Foster Care families and recruitment of foster carers; and
  • Complaints process following a referral of a complaint, in particular complaints submitted by schools.

Committee Chair Deputy Kathleen Funchion said: “The Committee looks forward to engaging with TUSLA on these important issues for the welfare of children at risk. Members are interested in hearing how Covid-19 has affected the agency in terms of how it delivers on its mandate, particularly when it comes to the recruitment of social workers and foster carers, and how it handles and manages complaints referred to it.”

The Joint Committee on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration  has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
