Oireachtas Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee to hear from PDFORRA

The Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence will discuss issues in relation to the defence forces with representatives of PDFORRA at a meeting in Leinster House tomorrow, Tuesday 25 May at 12.30pm.

PDFORRA’s President Mark Keane, General Secretary Gerard Guinan, Deputy General Secretary Martin Bright and National Support Officer Damien Quigley will appear before the Committee virtually from Committee Room 2.
Speaking before the meeting, Cathaoirleach of the Committee Charlie Flanagan TD: said: “The Committee welcomes this engagement with PDFORRA which represents more than 6,000 enlisted members of the Army, Naval Service and Air Corps. It is a welcome opportunity to discuss the Defence Forces and the current issues being faced by PDFORRA members including issues around pay and recruitment and retention of staff.”
