Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action to discuss 2030 Target of reducing Carbon Emissions by 51% with Environmental Protection Agency

The Joint Committee Environment and Climate Action will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 29 June, to discuss reducing Ireland’s Carbon Emissions by 51 per cent by 2030 with Sharon Finegan, Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Ahead of the meeting at 12.30pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Brian Leddin said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to engage with the Environmental Protection Agency as part of our examination of how Ireland can meet its target to reduce carbon emissions by 51 per cent by 2030. The EPA recently published an analysis of Ireland’s greenhouse gas emissions projections between now and 2040 and Members look forward to discussing this analysis and related matters with Ms Finegan.”

The Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
