Committee on Budgetary Oversight to resume discussions on inflation

17 Nov 2021, 11:00

The Committee on Budgetary Oversight will meet this evening with Representatives from Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) to resume discussions on inflation.

Speaking ahead of the meeting at 5.30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Neasa Hourigan said: “The cost of living increases seen in recent months have impacted families and businesses across the country, especially fuel prices rises which have driven up heating and transport costs.

“Following our engagement last week with economists from UCD and UCC, the Committee now looks forward to discussing inflation and potential policy responses with Dr Karina Doorley, Dr Niall Farrell and Dr Kieran McQuinn of the ESRI.”

The meeting in Committee Room 2 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
