Committee of Public Accounts to meet with National Broadband Ireland and Department of Environment, Climate and Communications

The Committee of Public Accounts (PAC) will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 10 February, with representatives of National Broadband Ireland (NBI) and Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.

The meeting in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will be joined by the C&AG, Seamus McCarthy, and will be split into two sessions.

9.30am-12.30pm – Representatives of NBI, led by Peter Hendrick, CEO, to examine National Broadband Plan expenditure and related matters in the context of Vote 29 (Environment, Climate and Communications) of the 2020 Appropriation Account.

1.30pm-4.30pm – Officials from the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, led by the Secretary General, Mark Griffin, to examine Vote 29 (Environment, Climate and Communications) – Expenditure on the National Broadband Plan.

PAC, chaired by Deputy Brian Stanley, is a standing committee of Dáil Éireann which focuses on ensuring public services are run efficiently and achieve value for money. Further information on the role and remit of the Committee can be found here.
