Joint Committee on Autism to discuss Autism Policy and Education with Minister Josepha Madigan and teaching unions

The Joint Committee on Autism will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 5 July, for separate engagements with Minister Josepha Madigan and representatives from the teaching unions to resume discussions on Autism Policy and Education.

The meeting at 11am in Committee Room 4 of Leinster House will be split into two sessions.

11am-12.30pm – Josepha Madigan TD, Minister of State at the Department of Education with responsibility for Special Education and Inclusion.

12.30pm-2pm – Representatives from Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland (ASTI), Irish National Teachers Organisation) (INTO), and Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI).

Committee Cathaoirleach Senator Micheál Carrigy said: “The Committee welcomes this opportunity to meet with Minister Madigan and the teaching unions as we continue our work following last week’s opening meeting. Members look forward to wide-ranging discussions on autism policy and education and related matters.”

The Joint Committee on Autism has 13 Members, eight from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
