Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science continues discussion on the Future of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in Irish Education

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science meets tomorrow Tuesday 28th March at 11am in Committee Room 2. The meeting will take place in 3 sessions with the first hearing from Mr Thomas Byrne TD, Minister of State at the Department of Education to discuss the Motion on Employment Equality Act 1998 (Section 12) (Reservation of Vocational Training Places) Order 2022.  

The Committee will then continue its roundtable discussion on the Future of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in Irish Education in Committee Room 2, Leinster House in 2 sessions and will hear from representatives from:

Session 1

11:15am – 12:30pm (approx.)

·       Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)

·       Institute of Physics (IOP)

Session 2

12:30pm – 2pm (approx)

·       Industrial Development Authority (IDA)

·       Enterprise Ireland (EI)

·       Irish Business and Economic Confederation (IBEC)

·       Irish Small and Medium Enterprises (ISME)

·       Electricity Supply Board (ESB)
