·      Dr Eileen Culloty, Assistant Professor, DCU School of Communications, Deputy Director DCU Institute for Future Media, Democracy, and Society

·      Ms Caitriona Heinl, Executive Director, Azure Forum for Contemporary Security Strategy & Adjunct Research Fellow, UCD

·        Professor Brigid Laffan, Professor Emeritus European Institute (EUI) and President European Policy Centre (EPC) Brussels

The meeting will take place in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House between 15:15-18:15.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Charlie Flanagan said: “Tomorrow’s meeting is a  welcome opportunity to discuss disinformation and potential hybrid threats.

Ireland became the 33rd participating state of the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats (Hybrid CoE) in January and a delegation from the Centre of Excellence visited Dublin last week.

It is vital that Ireland continues to interact with its fellow Members in order to be in a position to support our ability to detect, protect and deal with the harmful effects of hybrid threats and the dangers of disinformation. We look forward to gaining insight from the expertise of the representatives coming into the Committee tomorrow from DCU, UCD, European Institute (EUI) and the European Policy Centre (EPC) Brussels.”
