Committee on Community & Rural Development & the Islands publishes its Pre-Budget Submission to the Minister for Rural & Community Development in their deliberations during negotiations on Budget 2024.

The Committee publishes its report alongside a similar report submitted to the Minister for Social Protection. A key focus of the Committee for Budget 2024 is tackling rural infrastructure development, rural town regeneration and social inclusion in communities.

The Committee have made 23 recommendations and are committed to ensuring these are implemented to ensure the continued development of rural Ireland and local communities through Budget 2024. 

The Joint Committee will continue to engage with both the Minister and the Department of Rural and Community Development and seek regular updates on the implementation of the recommendations set out in this report.
