Speaker of Ukrainian Parliament to hold meeting with the Cathaoirligh of the Joint Committees on Foreign Affairs and Defence and European Union Affairs

The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk will attend a meeting tomorrow, Thursday September 28th hosted by the Chairs of both the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence and the Joint Committee on European Union Affairs.

The meeting will take place in Room 2 in Leinster House between 9 am – 9.45am.

The Cathaoirligh and Members of both Committees will attend along with members of the Ireland-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group.

At 9.45am the Speaker will go to the Dáil chamber for a short time and receive a welcome in the distinguished visitors’ gallery.

Mr Stefanchuk is in Dublin ahead of the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament which is being hosted by the Houses of the Oireachtas in the Convention Centre in Dublin on Thursday, 27 September and Friday, 28 September.

One of the key themes of the conference is the consequences of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and the role of national parliaments in Ukraine’s reconstruction.
