The Committee on Budgetary Oversight will meet today, Wednesday 25th October for a Post-Budget Engagement with representatives from the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC), and Social Justice Ireland at 5:30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.
Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Barry Cowen TD said “Our meeting today with ICTU, IBEC and Social Justice Ireland follows a very informative meetings with the Economic and Social Research Institute since the Government announced Budget 2024 a fortnight ago.
The Committee continues to support the delicate balance the Government has to strike between the investment in public services and the need to maintain public finances on a sustainable footing in the current inflationary environment.”
