Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach to discuss Health budgets with Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 14 November, to discuss the expenditure ceiling and resource allocation for the Department of Health and HSE in the context of Budget 2024.

The meeting at 2.30pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will hear from officials from the Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform led by the Secretary General, Mr David Moloney.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John McGuinness said: “The Joint Committee looks forward to engaging with Mr Moloney and his team regarding the expenditure ceiling and resource allocation for the Department of Health and HSE in the context of Budget 2024. The Committee will examine the work of the Department of Public Expenditure, which plays a pivotal role in setting expenditure ceilings across Departments, and emerging issues within the Budget allocation for the Department of Health and the HSE.

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
