Joint Oireachtas Committee on Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport & Media meet for engagement on the importance of airplay in promoting Irish music

The meeting will hear from representatives from Music & Entertainment Association of Ireland (MEAI).

Speaking ahead of the meeting Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Niamh Smyth TD said “Our Committee realises how important the continued development and support of an indigenous music industry is for Ireland. We hope our engagement with the representatives from the MEAI attending this afternoon will allow us to get a clear indication into what they believe can be implemented in order to nurture, bolster and promote our Irish music industry with increased and continued radio airplay.”
