Irish Association of Former Parliamentarians to hold 9th annual seminar in Seanad chamber

The Irish Association of Former Parliamentarians will hold their 9th Annual Seminar on Friday, 12th April in the Seanad Chamber in Leinster House from 11 am. to 5pm. 

The theme of the Seminar is “The challenges and Opportunities of a Multicultural Society”. 


The Association is resuming the practice of holding its Annual Seminar on a topic of current relevance and importance where invited experts come together with Former Members and office-holders to share their insights and experience.

The Seminar will be opened by Association President Mary Flaherty and chaired by former Member Nora Owen.

11.00 am. Opening by Mary Flaherty, President.
11.05 am. Chairperson for Morning Sessions Nora Owen.
11.10 am. John FitzGerald, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Trinity College Dublin.
11.25 am. Chris McCrudden, Professor of Human Rights and Equality Law, Queen's University Belfast.
11.40 am. Jude Lal Fernando, Associate Professor, School of Ecumenics, Director of Centre for Post Conflict Justice, Trinity College.
11.50 am. Kevin Callinan, General Secretary, FÓRSA.
12.05 pm. Keire Murphy, European Migration Network Officer, ESRI.
12.20 pm. approx. Q&A Session.
