Vol. 7 No. 6

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - BALLYHAUNIS COMPENSATION CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence if he can state whether compensation has yet been paid to Mr. Wm. Smyth, M.R.C.V.S., of Upper Main Street, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, on account of the Ford car IZ 755, commandeered by National Troops on the 6th September, 1922, and, if not, whether he will explain the cause of the delay in settling this long outstanding claim.

Compensation has not yet been paid to Mr. Smyth in respect of the seizure of his motor car, as the investigation of the circumstances of the case has not yet been completed. The necessary enquiries are being made as quickly as possible.
