Vol. 69 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Islands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state who is now (a) the landlord, (b) the tenant, (c) the occupier of the Stags of Broad Haven Bay in North Mayo, and the poor law valuation and rental of the Stags in question.

Mr. Boland

The Deputy's question would appear to refer to islands in the sea known as the Stags of Broad Haven, situate off the coast of North Mayo. According to the records of the General Valuation Office, the islands comprise an area of 12a. Or. 14p. and are of no rateable value. The owner appears to be Mr. George T. S. Carter. The Land Commission are not aware of any tenant being in occupation of the islands.
