Vol. 78 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Newport Farm.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission propose to acquire, for the relief of congestion, the farm situate in the townland of Knocknatinnywheel, Newport, County Mayo, the property of Mr. James Dick, which farm formed part of the O'Donel (now Symes) estate.

There are no proceedings pending in the Land Commission for the acquisition of the lands of Mr. James Dick for the relief of congestion.

I know that, but my question to the Minister is whether the Land Commission will take proceedings to acquire those lands. They have been put up for sale; they are in a congested area and they have not found a buyer. They are non-residential holdings.

I shall have inquiries made.

Will the Minister send me personal information about the matter as soon as possible?

I will send it to the Deputy.
