Vol. 89 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Land Commission Roads.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he has completed his investigations into the complaints as regards the condition of the Land Commission road on the Morrin estate (Record No. S.7519); and whether he is now in a position to arrange for the repair of the road.

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the road in question and the matter is at present under consideration. A decision may be expected at an early date, and the Deputy will be informed thereof by letter.

I asked a similar question some two or three months ago and I got the very same reply from the Minister. Will the Minister say what he means by "an early date"?

I have nothing to add. There is no purpose served by the Deputy informing me that he addressed a similar question to me two or three months ago. I have already explained to the House that the Land Commission inspectorial staff has been greatly depleted and Land Commission inspectors, like Deputies, have had to suffer severe cuts in their petrol ration.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he has completed his investigations into the complaints as regards the condition of the Land Commission road on the Aylmer estate (Record No. S.115411); and whether he is now in a position to arrange for the repair of the road.

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the road in question and the matter is at present under consideration. A decision may be expected at an early date and the Deputy will be informed thereof by letter.
