Vol. 89 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of County Kildare Lands.

asked the Minister for Supplies if he will state when it is proposed to pay compensation to Mrs. Mary Percival, of Allenwood, County Kildare, and Mr. William Moore, Robertstown, Naas, in respect of lands acquired for turf development purposes.

Negotiations are proceeding with the representative of Mrs. Mary Percival, of Allenwood, County Kildare, with a view to reaching an agreement as to the amount of compensation payable.

It has not been found possible to reach agreement with the other landholder mentioned in the Deputy's question as to the amount of compensation payable in respect of lands taken over from him for turf production purposes. It will, therefore, be necessary to refer the case to an arbitrator to determine the amount of the compensation. This will be done as early as possible.
