Vol. 115 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Telephone Service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the urgent need of a telephone service at Scartaglin, County Kerry; and, if so, whether he will sanction the necessary installations at the earliest possible date.

As I have stated on many occasions in reply to previous similar questions, it is the intention to provide a telephone call office at every post office, but, owing to pressure of more urgent construction works, it has been necessary to defer their provision for the present. I propose to review the position four months hence when it may be practicable to resume work on the call office scheme. In the meantime, it is not possible to say, as regards any particular post office, when a telephone call office will be provided.
